Types of Guardianship in Ohio

Guardian of the person: makes decisions about living arrangements, medical care, and daily needs.
Guardian of the estate: manages the ward’s finances and property.
Guardianship of a minor: cares for a child when parents are unable to.

Courts can appoint one person for both roles or split them, and can limit a guardianship to only the decisions the person truly can’t make.
