The Two Documents Every Adult Needs

Financial (durable) power of attorney: names an agent to handle banking, bills, property, taxes, and benefits if you’re unable to. “Durable” means it keeps working after incapacity, which is exactly when you need it most.
Health care power of attorney: names an agent to make medical decisions when you can’t speak for yourself. (Covered in depth on our Advance Directives page.)

Why Not Use a Free Form?

Ohio banks and financial institutions routinely reject generic or outdated POA forms. We draft documents with the specific powers your agent will actually need, such as real estate, retirement accounts, Medicaid planning provisions, and digital assets, and we counsel you on choosing the right agent and successors. A POA that gets rejected at the moment of crisis is worse than none, because you think you’re covered.
